Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder – In Need of OCD Advice?
Here are some really great things that you can do to help with your OCD.
First know that it is OCD by realizing that if you feel like you have to do something in order to avoid something bad from happening, then you probably have OCD. Especially when the thing that you feel you have to do is not rationally connected to the feared outcome of not doing it.
Blah, blah, you get it. Here’s something you can do right now:
Tell yourself that you want to become OCD free. Once you have done this, it’s time to really think about what kind of life you really want to live. You don’t want to sit there and spend all your time thinking about OCD, instead you want to think about what you are going to do while you are OCD free.
Now start to do as many of those things as you can today. If you feel anxious about whatever then just keep going. If it gets too bad medications can help but the bottom line here is this. The only way to beat OCD is to actually face it head on and refuse to perform rituals.
Take action: Here are some things that you can do right now to make sure that your actions are successful: Make sure that when you feel the anxiety, just let it wash over you, let it do it’s worst to you. It is not going to kill you or harm you although you may feel that it is, it is not. Then once you get through that, and you realize that it is not that bad, you may never have unneeded anxiety anymore and that should reduce your OCD, period.
